Time

Don't say you don't have enough time. You have exactly the same number of hours per day that were given to Helen Keller, Pasteur, Michaelangelo, Mother Teresa, Leonardo da Vinci, Thomas Jefferson, and Albert Einstein.
-H. Jackson Brown, Jr., writer

True... True...

So what is the question that will lead me to understand the chasm that I see between me and thee?

  1. Yes.

Mother Theresa didn't spend her time being a rock-star AND loving poor people AND working a "day" job. She focused on one thing.
Though some of these people did a variety of things (Thomas Jefferson). They excelled at one.
Albert Einstein had like 8 of the same suit so he didn't have to waste brain-power on clothes. He once went out caroling on Christmas eve (he played the violin). When the carolers were done... he was lost. Dr Einstein didn't know where he lived.... that wasn't his priority.
The question is often not "what do I want to do", but more like "What is it that I can lay down? What can I walk away from?"

When I have so much happening that I can't succeed at any of it... I realize that my responsibility in this culture isn't to do more... but to say "no" as kindly and as often as possible.

(*it's been estimated that at least 15% of a joke is true)
